Radio Ink is proud to announce that Gordon Smith is the recipient of the 2021 Lifetime Leadership Award. The former two-term senator from Oregon became CEO of the National Associations of Broadcasters in November 2009. He'll be retiring from that position at the end of this year.

A New Voice For Fresno
Newstalk 580, 105.9 KMJ has hired Christopher Gabriel as the new host of Fresno’s Morning News. Beginning Monday, Gabriel joins anchor Matt Otstot to bring the San Joaquin Valley breaking news coverage from 6-9am PT. He'll also host a weekend talk show.

Legend Tommy Shannon Passes
Top 40 DJ Tommy Shannon, who ruled the 50K airwaves of WKBW in Buffalo, has died. The Buffalo native died May 26 of pancreatic cancer. Art Vuolo has a video tribute of Shannon who was 82 when he passed.
Morning Edition Adds Fourth Host
A. Martinez will be the newest voice on NPR. He will join one of the networks signature shows, Morning Edition. Martinez, co-host of Southern California Public Radio KPCC's Take Two since 2012, joins co-hosts Steve Inskeep, Noel King and Rachel Martin.
National For WSB’s Erick Erickson
Erick Erickson, afternoon host on Atlanta's WSB will be taking his show national June 1. He is teaming up with Cox Media Group for the jump. Erickson has been self-syndicated across Georgia.
