3 New Hall-Of-Famers For WSOU-FM
Seton Hall’s student-run station, WSOU 89.5 FM, has welcomed three new inductees into its Hall of Fame: sportscaster Matt Loughlin '79, traffic reporter Pete Tauriello '76, and engineer Richard Koziol. In addition, George Roskos '09 was presented with the station's Distinguished Young Alumnus Award. The honorees were inducted on Saturday, April 8.
Government A Friend To Radio
Only The Home Depot aired more commercials than the U.S. Department of Transportation last week, according to Media Monitors. The USDOT aired 40,287 spots on radio stations all across the country, with The Home Depot at 77,108. Rounding out the top five were GEICO (39,374), Lowe's (31,591), and Mattress Firm (30,919).

Oink Ink says the winner of its 18th annual Dead Radio Contest was Cundari’s Emmanuel Torres’ 60-second spot called PUSH for fixauto.com. Torres, an art director in Cundari’s Toronto office, had the idea for the script seven years ago in his first advertising class in college.

The National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters has filed comments with the FCC opposing the lifting of the Commission's subcaps rules. There has been a strong movement on the part of broadcasters to eliminate the subcap rules, which limits owners from having more than 8 stations per market or 5 on each band.
