Firms Use Radio To Find Workers After Storm

0

Following the devastating hurricane that battered Puerto Rico, several firms turned to radio to find employees they could not contact because the storm knocked out cell service and landline service for so many people.

According to The Wall Street Journal Boston Scientific began running advertisements on a Puerto Rican radio station, asking employees to check in and contact them by phone or social media. Boston Scientific had to send an employee to the radio station with the ad because it was nearly impossible to get through to the station by phone. Rum maker Bacardi also turned to radio for help, running radio ads to account for its workers.

Perhaps this is another story that helps point out the importance of pushing the FM Chip in cell phones.
