Opie Joe Named PD of Knoxville Stations
SummitMedia says it has named Opie Joe the program director of two of its Knoxville stations, WCYQ (100.3 FM, The Wolf) and WNOX (93.1 FM). He has worked in Knoxville radio for over a decade, including as on-air personality at WCYQ and programming at WNOX.
PRPD Announces New Leadership, Board Election
The Public Radio Program Directors Association (PRPD) says its members have elected two new board members -- Ernesto Aguilar and Lindsay Campbell -- and made some changes to the executive committee. The election was held December 1, the group said.

Little Rock Stations Raise $466K For Children’s Hospital
Cumulus Media's Little Rock cluster raised over $466,000 for the Arkansas Children's Hospital and Arkansas Children's Northwest during a recent toy and donation drive. The radiothon was held Friday, December 9 and featured on-air talent from four stations.
Des Moines Listeners Come Up Big For Cumulus
Cumulus' Country station in Des Moines 92.5 KJJY held its Two Days of Compassion Radiothon and raised $133,998 for Variety – The Children’s Charity. The radiothon also put 569 teddy bears into the arms of children in local hospitals.
iHeart New York Pulls in $1.6 For Kids
iHeartMedia New York’s 106.7 LITE FM, raised over $1.6 million during its fifth annual “Hope for the Holidays Radiothon.” The money raised benefits Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.
