Media tech provider Veritone has unveiled its newest conversational artificial intelligence chatbot designed for the company's Digital Media Hub. "Ask Veri" is designed to offer a sophisticated yet user-friendly approach to navigating digital media data.

Award-winning country music band Old Dominion will perform at the new “We Are Broadcasters” event on Tuesday, April 10 on the NAB Show Main Stage in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Based on the 18-plus population surveyed in the 2016 Infinite Dial survey, 84% continue to use AM/FM radio as their primary source for audio in the car. Surprisingly the CD player is next at 56%, followed by an MP3 Player or the listeners' own digital music at 38%. Online radio comes in next at 21%, followed by satellite radio at 19%. And when consumers are asked how often they use an audio source, AM/FM dwarfs online radio 54% to 8%.

Along with the Mark Wahlberg Family of Dealerships, the Columbus Radio Group raised enough school supplies for over 400 central Ohio families. Listeners filled bins at the Wahlberg locations and the supplies were turned over to the Driven Foundation, an organization that provides families with basic human needs.

Chubb Rock’s programs "Diggin' In Tha Crates" and "Authentic Caribbean" have been added to the CKFG-FM Toronto line-up. The programs are syndicated by United Stations Media Networks and distributed in Canada by Orbyt Media.

Making its debut Wednesday, November 7, was the Heckuva Show with Michael Brown, which will broadcast weeknights from 7-8 on KOA NewsRadio in Denver. In addition, the new Caplis and Kafer show airs afternoons on TalkRadio 630 KNOW from 4-7. 

Among the flippers Tuesday were Cumulus' WWIZ-FM in Youngstown, OH, iHeart's WMAG-FM in Greensboro, NC, Bonneville's KOSI-FM in Denver, and Horizon Broadcasting's KWPK-FM in Bend Oregon. SiriusXM also launched 22 holiday-themed channels.

Nominations are open for Radio Ink's 2023 Best Program Directors in America list for a few more days. The deadline for nominating your Program Director or Brand Manager is Friday, June 16 at 5 pm ET.

Bob Perkins, who has been playing jazz on Philadelphia's airwaves for over 50 years, is set to retire from radio. Last Sunday, Perkins announced during his Sunday Jazz Brunch show on Temple University's WRTI-FM that April 2nd will be his last show.
