Townsquare Reports Strong Q1 Results
Net revenue (on a same station basis) came in at $93.7 million, an increase of 4.7% for the first three months of 2019. Excluding political, which was down $400,000, Townsquare was up an even stronger 5.1% and the company continues to knock it out of the park when it comes to digital.
WBA and MIW Shake Hands On Women Broadcaster
The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association has joined forces with Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) to launch a mentorship program aimed at promoting female leadership in radio broadcasting. The partnership is now accepting applications until July 7.
Turkeys For Troops In San Antonio
iHeartMedia San Antonio recently partnered with local car dealership Toyota of Boerne and Walmart for the seventh annual Turkeys for Troops drive. iHeart employees and volunteers handed out turkeys to over 7,000 local military personnel and their families.

Bubba Files Lawsuit Against Cox
In the lawsuit Bubba the Love Sponge claims CMG was part of the scheme to get him fired over the Nielsen ratings controversy. Bubba made contact with someone on a PPM panel and after years of claiming he would fight Nielsen he settled with them at the very last minute.

After two weeks of free fall post-Memorial Day, national radio ad play among the top five advertisers started to right itself. According to data from Media Monitors for the week of June 12-18, Progressive Insurance continued to maintain its lead.
ESPN Dismisses 150
As has been widely reported for the past few weeks, ESPN has let go 150 employees. The sports network has been making cuts to try to keep up with declining revenue due to lost subscribers. It doesn't appear any cuts were made on the radio side. ESPN President John Skipper said the cuts were made in studio production, digital content, and technology.
Urban One Gets Second Bite at Casino Apple
Last November 51.4% of Richmond residents voted against building a new $565 million Casino, on the south side of the city, backed by Urban One. Last night the Richmond City Council voted 8-1 to put the proposal on the ballot for another vote.
