Rush Limbaugh was expected to return to his show Thursday, after announcing Monday he had advanced lung cancer. He told listeners he'd be taking Tuesday and Wednesday off to focus on treatment. He was not on Thursday and now Fox News is reporting that Rush will return today.

A study by the University of Florida Brechner Freedom of Information Project is highlighting the importance of independent college media. More than half of college student news organizations are significantly financially linked to their universities.

Entercom stations have received six South Carolina Broadcasters Association State Television and Radio Awards Awards. The awards were presented at the SCBA’s STAR Awards Ceremony at the Columbia Conference Center in Columbia, SC.

Last month, Fred and Paul Jacobs announced their tours of the Consumer Electronics Show for broadcasters. The response was strong enough for them to add a second tour. The custom-curated tours are open to all broadcasters.

Cumulus makes the flip on WWIZ-FM in the Ohio market. The new Oldies station is called "Z104, The Valley’s Good Time Oldies." The station was Alternative Rocker “ROCK 104.” Cumulus says, "Z104 fills the void left for Oldies lovers by iHeartMedia, when it flipped its former Youngstown Oldies station to Country last April."

Clay Travis and Buck Sexton are taking over the three hour time slot previously held by Rush Limbaugh. Travis is the host of FOX Sports Radio’s morning program, Outkick The Coverage with Clay Travis. Sexton is a conservative talker and former CIA officer.

The late Bob Kingsley will be honored during CRS's annual “Bob Kingsley’s Acoustic Alley,” Thursday, Feb. 20. The host will be Fitz, recently named new host of Bob Kingsley's Countdown show, Radio Ink will hand out its Best PD Awards (sponsored by Sony Music Nashville) and Garth Brooks will host a writers round.
