That's per year and Market Manager Phil Zachary is trying to negotiate that number down, according to The Boston Herald. The paper says WEEI signed a 10-year deal back in 2006 for rights to broadcast Sox games and he hopes to have a new agreement in place by Christmas.

Pittman: Let’s Not Carried Away With Streaming

The iHeartMedia CEO told Bloomberg Business that a recent study showed that only 3% of in-car listening is to Streaming services. "So we shouldn't get carried away. When you look at radio, radio is still about 90% of that listening and 10% is digital listening, including iHeartRadio." Pittman says at the end of the day radio is digital. "If it (radio) were invented today, it would be in the digital category.

Country with Carsen to Launch

In 2016, Big D and Bubba’s Silverfish Media will launch Carsen (Jessica Humphreville) as mid-day host of "Country with Carsen" (10am-3pm ET weekdays). Carsen will broadcast from the Silverfish Media studios in Nashville. She will also contribute to the Big D and Bubba morning show.

Analysts Concerned About iHeart Liquidity

iHeartMedia SVP and Treasurer Brian Coleman even joked that he was getting more love from analysts this quarter with many more questions being tossed his way. Those questions were on the future liquidity of the company, something Coleman said he's comfortable with because there are "a host of things to look at to generate liquidity."

Townsquare Ad Revenue Flat in Q3

There's a lot to unjumble in the Townsquare earnings report but the bottom line on local ad revenue was that it was up $600K or .7% to $79.6 million. Other Media and Entertainment net revenue increased $4.1 million, or 55.8%, to $11.5 million, driven mostly by digital.

Not All CEO’s Are On The Programmatic Bandwagon

Liggins says he doesn't see the demand for programmatic in radio. "Advertising agencies want it because it will allow them to do their job with fewer people. And, this also means we don't have to pay a seller which should save us commission." Liggins also said the folks at iHeartMedia, CEO Bob Pittman, building the programmatic platform are smart people, so if you can save money it's a net positive.
