iHeartMedia announced Friday that former Cox Media Group CEO Kim Guthrie has been named Division President for iHeartMedia in Florida. She replaces Linda Byrd who's retiring July 15th.

Station Owner Says He’s Receiving Threats

Pete Schartel is the Owner of KCXL Radio in Liberty, Missouri. His station carries Radio Sputnik, a radio service funded by the Kremlin. Schartel tells Radio Ink that he's been receiving threats after the NAB sent out a letter calling on stations to stop carrying programming with ties to the Russian Government.

NRB Fires Spokesman Over COVID Chat

Pastor Daniel Darling, a spokesman for the National Religious Broadcasters, has been fired after appearing on MSNBC and discussed how his faith motivated him to get the Covid-19 vaccine. NBC reports he was fired for violating the groups policy to remain neutral.

iHeart has named Chris Edge Area Senior VP of Programming for Raleigh and Greensboro. iHeartMedia’s Raleigh and Greensboro Area includes 10 stations. Edge is currently responsible for programming five iHeart Raleigh stations, a position he's had for the past five years.

Bruce Mittman and Jim Leven are partners in Community Broadcasters. They met in 1986, when Mittman was visiting a station where Leven was working as the manager. Mittman eventually purchased that station in 1986 and the two have been friends ever since. Their radio careers wound around and back together again.
