(By Larry Rosin) The radio "hardware crisis" has accelerated over the last few years: Nearly 61% of Americans have a single-use radio in their homes as consumers gravitate toward Internet-connected devices. The issue is even impacting new cars.

Cities 97 (KTCZ-FM, Twin Cities) recently raised nearly $530,000 through its 28th annual Cities 97 Sampler CD. For every CD sold, $1 was donated to the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The remaining proceeds benefited 97 local Minnesota charities. This year, the CD featured performances recorded live in Cities 97’s Studio C by 20 artists

Digital audio advertising company DAX and Urban One have entered into a long-term partnership. DAX will be Urban One's exclusive sales representative across general market network radio streaming and programmatic streaming advertisements under the agreement.
