FCC Still Open For Business

1

Despite the partial government shutdown The Federal Communications Commission has announced it has enough funding to stay open for business and pay its staff through January 2. Right before Christmas lawmakers and the President continued to fight over funding for a border security wall and failed to agree on a spending bill to keep the government functioning at 100%.

  1. That would be just awful if the FCC ran out of funding. A pirate radio station might sneak on the air if that happened and take over 3/4 of the NJ/NYC market territory. That would mean many corporates might suffer financial losses and then that would cause a corporate radio shutdown. Then that would possibly mean that the NYC’s Broadcaster’s Association would lose 95% of it’s funding and the possible takeover of the group by all 100 of those pirate radio stations which then could cause Paul Rotella to be out of a job or have a stroke. Then that might possibly mean the the Free Radio Association would be born and then a whole new group of community radio stations would soon be launched across the country. Then since the FCC is closed down we would need a new regulatory agency hence steps in the well funded Free Radio Commission (FRC) headed by Stephen Dunnifer. He would then grant affordable station licenses to all pirates, and vote for a new law against any old obsolete FCC licensed corporate operations, and swear to eliminate that “vexing” problem that has plagued the nation for many decades. Each one would be fined millions, helping strengthen the FRA, and confiscated corporate radio equipment would be re applied to the FRC’s newly licensed LPFM free radio stations.
