Moonves: Radio Groups Still Looking At CBS Radio
On Thursday, CBS Chairman and CEO Les Moonves answered questions at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference. The majority of his 43 minutes on stage was dedicated to television, however radio did come up, and here's what Moonves had to say.

The Portland station (KWEE) is bringing in Promotion Director StarChile, On-Air Talent Sara G., and Producer/Mixer DJ Heat. StarChile is a prominent figure on the Portland Hip Hop scene and joins KWEE after a stint with KXJM. Sarah Gilmore is a master socialite of the Portland scene and was Miss Black Oregon 2015. DJ Heat has spent the last six years with WBLK.

NAB Adds 12 More House Reps
12 more members of the House of Representatives have added their support to the Local Radio Freedom Act which is a resolution the NAB is lobbying for in Washington opposing any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge on radio. The resolution now has 181 cosponsors in the House and 22 in the Senate.
PodcastOne To Use AdsWizz Technology
The new partnership will allow PodcastOne to offer advertisers audio advertising with one-to-one targeting abilities. PodcastOne will now be able to use AdsWizz’s suite of products, including Audio Ad Insertion Software for on-demand content, AudioServe for campaign management, and PodWave, a marketplace for podcast audio inventory.
Urban One Was Not A Player
CEO Alfred Liggins says Urban One was not in on the Entercom/CBS divestitures. "We saw the lineup, we did not participate." Liggins said only two stations were urban focused and there were a number of markets in play where Urban One doesn't own stations. The company typically looks for stations where it already has clusters that can help it de-lever.
