The Philadelphia station held its WOGL Loves Our Kids Radiothon November 29 and 30, raising a massive $309,925 for the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The event was sponsored by area Mazda dealers and broadcast live from the Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s Seacrest Studios located in the Colket Atrium at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

WAY Media Network Chief Content Officer Faron Dice has announced that Carlos Anthony has been named Operations Coordinator/Night Show Producer for WAY-FM. Anthony comes to WAY-FM after a stint with Entercom in New York, (including WCBS, WNEW, and WBMP.)

The San Diego sports station was purchased by Arizona ad agency executive Bill Hagen back in April. It went off the air a year earlier due to financial reasons. The station will include only one local show, Scott Kaplan in PM drive. Rich Eisen, Scott Ferrall and Tony Bruno are also part of the new station lineup.

Illinois station 102.3 WXLC/Waukegan-Kenosha raised over $25,000 for St. Baldrick's Foundation -- which benefits childhood cancer research -- during their annual Hair for Hope event, March 25, 12-5 p.m. at the Green Town Tavern in Waukegan.

We reported yesterday that KFNS-FM St. Louis Morning Show Host Vic Faust was caught berating his co-host during a commercial break at the station that was recorded and leaked to The St. Louis Post Dispatch. Faust was fired from his TV anchor position yesterday and his radio job is on hold.

University of Ottawa adjunct professor Jada Watson's study was picked up widely by the national press. Reporting on the study CBS News reported female artists are "gasping for airtime" on country radio.

TNT and Cadence13 are launching an eight-part podcast documentary series, Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia, a companion to TNT’s six-episode suspense drama I Am the Night. The series will premiere Wednesday, February 13.

Kevin Weatherly is back as Senior Vice President of Programming for KROQ-FM in Los Angeles. Weatherly will also serve as Format Vice President for Audacy’s portfolio of alternative stations across the country.
