Visotcky is the new Market Manager for the company's Charleston seven-station cluster. Visotcky started his radio career with WVRC while still a student at West Virginia University in 1979. He comes to Charleston from San Diego where he revamped sales for the Padres Radio Network and led a staff of ten multi-media sellers this past season.
In 2016, Big D and Bubba’s Silverfish Media will launch Carsen (Jessica Humphreville) as mid-day host of "Country with Carsen" (10am-3pm ET weekdays). Carsen will broadcast from the Silverfish Media studios in Nashville. She will also contribute to the Big D and Bubba morning show.
The iHeartMedia CEO told Bloomberg Business that a recent study showed that only 3% of in-car listening is to Streaming services. "So we shouldn't get carried away. When you look at radio, radio is still about 90% of that listening and 10% is digital listening, including iHeartRadio." Pittman says at the end of the day radio is digital. Cox Media Group in Tampa has named John Kage Director of Branding for Hot 101.5 FM WPOI. Additionally, the Director of Branding and Programming for 97X WSUN FM will report to Kage. Before joining CMG Tampa, Kage was PD and Digital Content Director for Entercom's KQKS/ KS1075 in Denver.
For over 30 years, Bob Davis has been the play-by-play voice of Kansas Jayhawk football and men's basketball. He'll be retiring at the end of the basketball season, making Saturday's game against Kansas State his final football broadcast.
That's per year and Market Manager Phil Zachary is trying to negotiate that number down, according to The Boston Herald. The paper says WEEI signed a 10-year deal back in 2006 for rights to broadcast Sox games and he hopes to have a new agreement in place by Christmas.
