KUT and KUTX Studios launch the new show that aims to give voice to the daily experiences of Black Austinites. The show features civil rights activists, religious leaders, artists, businesspeople and citizens, discussing their lives and experiences as Black residents of Central Texas. 

Digital audio advertising firm Price Brothers unveiled its artificial-intelligence-driven Contextual Advertising service for host-read podcast ads. The service uses dynamic targeting with voice cloning technology to create more relevant and engaging ads.

Saul “Sy” Dresner, of Boca Raton, FL, former owner and operator of WCCC AM & FM, the popular longtime Hard Rock and personality radio station in Hartford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at the age of 89.

Fox8.com is reporting that former Cleveland radio personality Joseph Spooner has been sentenced for profiting from a fundraiser intended for a woman with cystic fibrosis. It’s a story Radio Ink began covering in late December, and it hasn’t ended well for Spooner.

WBQB Fredericksburg, VA has reached the halfway mark of a weekly $1,000 giveaway that benefits local charities. The Centennial Broadcasting station gives half the amount to the drawing winner with the other half donated to charity.

Robert Feder is reporting that after being unable to find a new location for the WGN Chicago Walk of Fame plaques, the station is now offering the plaques to the recipients to take to their homes.

Buck Wise has joined 105.1 The Buzz (KRSK-FM) in Portland as morning show host. Wise will be on air weekdays, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT. Wise has 15 years of broadcast experience.
