SONY Files Fraud Lawsuit Against Former Rdio Executives
Sony Music alleges it was defrauded of millions of dollars when Rdio, the streaming service backed by former Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey, sold to Pandora then filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Study: The Masses Will Not Pay For Streaming Music
That's according to a study of 500 people between the ages of 17 and 59 done by Kelly Music Research. The company says fewer than 8% of the respondents they surveyed were using the paid versions of Pandora, Spotify, or SoundCloud, and advertiser-supported free is still preferred among those who have embraced streaming. And, according to the research, if free were no longer an option, few said they would ante up.

Sharon Bordwell has been promoted to Corporate Controller for Adams Radio Group. Bordwell joined Adams in October, 2014, as a General Accountant. Prior to Adams, Bordwell served in public accounting specializing in audit of financial institutions. Sharon also worked as a private consultant for small to mid-size companies.

Harker Keeps The Pressure On Nielsen
Just days after Nielsen sent out a press release touting AQH growth for radio since its enhanced CBET product was rolled out, consultant Richard Harker has unleashed a series of blogs criticizing the ratings firm and PPM. In his latest blog, Harker asserts that the more robust encoding from Nielsen is causing stronger tones and some listeners are now able to hear those tones.

Kliesch To Host Mornings at KKMJ Austin
On Monday, Ryan Kliesch will begin hosting mornings on Majic 95.5 (KKMJ-FM) in Austin. Kliesch heads to Austin from Denver where he hosted mornings on Country KYGO. Prior to that, Kliesch spent 10 years on Top 40 WRVW (107.5 The River) and Country WSIX (The Big 98) Nashville.
