Denver Gets Yet Another Sports Station

0

This one belongs to Altitude, which is owned by Stan Kroenke. Kroenke owns four stations in Denver along with the Denver Nuggets, the LA Rams, and the Pepsi Center. He picked up 950-AM when Entercom was having issues with the D.O.J. and is now flipping the station to sports. The Denver Sports Radio field is very crowded. Bonneville owns KKFN-FM (104.3), there is an ESPN affiliate, and iHeartMedia has KDSP-AM (760), which carries the Denver Broncos.

This station, which was an oldies format under Entercom, was part of the three-way deal that led to Bonneville entering the Denver market. The new call letters for the station are KKSE-AM, and Mile High Sports Radio president James Merilatt will serve as PD while keeping his role as owner of the independent radio station on 1340 AM.

The station debuts Friday and the lineup includes:
– Josh Dover, who has produced shows with Mile High Sports, The Fan, and The Denver Post, will host The Morning Scoreboard from 6-7 a.m.
– The morning drive will feature Tom Helmer, Altitude TV reporter Lauren Gardner, and former Nuggets player Scott Hastings.
– Vic Lombardi and Kyle Keefe will be on from 1-4 p.m.
– Former ESPN Denver host Nate Kreckman joins former Broncos center Tom Nalen for the afternoon shift from 4-7 p.m.
– The only syndicated program on the station is DirecTV’s Rich Eisen Show.
