Beasley, Greater Media Deal To Close Next Week

That's what we're hearing from several industry sources, but of course those things can change when the government is involved. It was July 19 when Beasley announced it was purchasing the 21 Greater Media stations in 7 markets for $240 million Dollars. Since then Beasley has been putting its new corporate team in place and last month divested 4 stations in Charlotte to Entercom for $24 million.

Urban One Indy PD Passes

Grisel Barajas, Program Director for Urban One's WNOW (LaGrande 105.1) in Indianapolis, died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday.  She was riding with her boyfriend, who was the driver. He survived the crash. Barajas ws only 31 years old.

She has been serving as Interim PD since the departure of former PD Sherita Saulsberry.

WNCY Radiothon Reaps Big Bucks For St. Jude

It was the Appleton/Oshkosh - Green Bay, WI, station's 20th Annual St. Jude Radiothon. The February 9-10 event, which was held in Green Bay, raised $300,124 for the fight against childhood cancer.
