Mike Kasper has been named Program Director and Afternoon Drive Host for BIG 104.7 (WPGB-FM). He also takes over afternoons at the iHeart Country station October 11.

iHeartMedia has named Beata Murphy Program Director for KIIS FM in Los Angeles. She moves up from Assistant PD/Music Director. She takes over for John Ivey who has been promoted to President of CHR Content Development and Strategy.

Normally, the NAB and RAB announce the city for the following year's show at the tail end of the current year's show. This year the word is out early. Community Broadcasters has hired Jerry Hannahs as its new Fort Walton Beach GSM. Hannahs returns to the market in which he began his radio career. He moves to Community Broadcasters from West Virginia where he was Market Manager for Forever Media.

97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) in Detroit is honoring morning show host Jamie Samuelsen who died August 1 after a battle with cancer. The Entercom station will honor the station veteran by renaming the studio he used "The Samuelsen Studio."

That's the focus of a panel at the 2018 Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference being held March 13-14 in Miami. The panel will be moderated by Tomás Martinez, CEO and owner of Solmart Media. Martinez is responsible for managing the company’s three Southwest Florida stations: WZSP-FM, WZZS-FM, and WTMY-AM.

The NAB is now accepting nominations for the 2016 NAB Marconi Radio Awards. Your deadline to nominate is May 31. Finalists will be announced in July.

Dan Dubonnet will pick up the responsibilities for Hall Communications Executive VP Bill Baldwin after his passing this month. Dubonnet has been with Hall for 31 years as manager of the Vermont cluster.
