Former Miami Radio Host Dies
Hank Goldberg, known as Hammerin’ Hank, died at the age of 82 after battling chronic kidney disease. Goldberg worked in local radio in Miami, also for ESPN Radio and was a Miami Dolphins radio analyst for 25 years.
New Jersey Host Dies From Cancer
New Jersey midday radio veteran Barbara LaRue has passed away, losing her battle with cancer. LaRue is known for her many years in New Jersey radio including stints at WZXL, WMGM and recently WCHR-FM (The Hawk).

Jason Carr has been named Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia West Palm Beach/Treasure Coast. Carr comes from the 'North Coast' Cleveland, Ohio where he was PD for iHeart's WMMS and WHLK.

Rob Anthony has been named Program Director for WMMS and WHLK in Cleveland. Anthony takes over for Jason Carr who has been promoted to SVP Programming for iHeartMedia West Palm Beach/Treasure Coast in Florida.
Country Radio Hall Of Fame Grows
The Country Radio Broadcasters have added to the 2022 Country Radio Hall of Fame. Honored were three off-air radio broadcasters and four on-air radio personalities.
Cumulus Cuts Helton’s Countdown Show
Lon Helton's Country Countdown USA has been eliminated from the programming roster in a round of firings at Westwood One. Our friends over at All Access were first to report that Helton's show will end distribution with the Cumulus owned network at the end of July.
iHeart Charlotte Partnering With Local Hospital
iHeartMedia Charlotte’s WHQC-FM has signed a multi-year partnership with Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. Morning show hosts Miguel and Holly will lead the partnership by hosting an annual Radiothon, set for its inaugural event in December.
The End of an Era
Apparently 36 years is enough radio for some hosts. KQRS Minneapolis morning man, Radio Hall of Famer Tom Barnard is retiring. His final broadcast will be December 23rd. The Minneapolis native has been with the station since 1986. He dominated morning ratings in that city for a very long time.
