(By Rick Fink) Last week, I asked, "Are You Contagious?" In that column, I suggested that not every day is a great day and that you should never let your clients know you’re having a bad day. This week, I’d like to make a clarification.

A federal judge appointed Larry Patrick as Receiver for KREV-FM 92.7 in San Francisco KFRH-FM 104.3 in Las Vegas and KRCKC-FM in Palm Springs.  This stems from a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement by 17 music copyright holders. The reported debt of the three stations is over $2 million.

The Federal Communications Commission has initiated proposed fines totaling $857,775 against seven individuals for operating unauthorized, unlicensed radio stations in the Boston area, under the PIRATE Act.

The Nielsen AutoTECHCAST report says consumers have their smart devices with them all the time and that does not change when they get in an automobile. "In fact, despite advances in auto tech and embedded connectivity, many consumers are more apt to stick with their devices than use the connected features of their vehicle." So the question is...why?

Marc Rayfield has been in radio since 1990, more than half his life. His first job as a manager was as the Local Sales Manager for WIP in Philadelphia shortly after it launched as the second sports radio station in America (behind WFAN in New York). His last two positions with CBS Radio were running the New York and Philadelphia markets. A huge responsibility.

Curtis LeGeyt has taken over as President and CEO of the National Association of Broadcasters. His Senior Leadership team has also started work, including a newly created Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff positions.

Nurses and medical staff at a Seattle medical center were treated to BBQ this week by MOViN 92.5. Brooke from the Brooke & Jeffery Show served up the thank you dinner to celebrate National Nurses Week.
