Larry Patrick Appointed Receiver For Ed Stolz Stations

A federal judge appointed Larry Patrick as Receiver for KREV-FM 92.7 in San Francisco KFRH-FM 104.3 in Las Vegas and KRCKC-FM in Palm Springs.  This stems from a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement by 17 music copyright holders. The reported debt of the three stations is over $2 million.

The Federal Communications Commission has initiated proposed fines totaling $857,775 against seven individuals for operating unauthorized, unlicensed radio stations in the Boston area, under the PIRATE Act.

The Nielsen AutoTECHCAST report says consumers have their smart devices with them all the time and that does not change when they get in an automobile. "In fact, despite advances in auto tech and embedded connectivity, many consumers are more apt to stick with their devices than use the connected features of their vehicle."
