Former Long-Time Toledo Host Dies
Gary Shores, long-time host on WKKO-FM in Toledo died Sunday. Shores was part of the popular morning show “Shores and Steele.” He retired in 2019 to focus on his health after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Shores' former co-host Harvey Steele died in 2017.

Beasley Q4 Revenue Up $1.3 Million
Total revenue for the Naples, FL based company came in at $72 million for the last three months of 2022, compared to $70.7 million a year earlier. Political revenue of $5.1 million saved the day for the company in Q4.
Foundation Renames Big Award
The Broadcasters Foundation of America has announced the renaming of its annual Lifetime Achievement Award to the Edward F. McLaughlin Lifetime Achievement Award, in honor of McLaughlin who passed away in 2018.

St. Pete Station Funding Yanked
WBPU 96.3 FM, an LPFM station serving St. Petersburg's Black communities, has had about $36,800 in funding pulled by the Pinellas County Commission. The action is the result of concerns expressed by a county commissioner over the association of the station with the Uhuru Movement, a political group with its headquarters in St. Petersburg.
BEA Celebrates Award Winners
