Congratulations to our friends at Sun Broadcast Group. The company is celebrating its 8th birthday today. Sun Broadcast Group CEO, Jason Bailey, said, “Eight years later so much is different. WBPU 96.3 FM, an LPFM station serving St. Petersburg's Black communities, has had about $36,800 in funding pulled by the Pinellas County Commission. The action is the result of concerns expressed by a county commissioner over the association of the station with the Uhuru Movement, a political group with its headquarters in St. Petersburg.

KTSU Public Radio is launching Urban Alternative The Vibe this fall from the campus of Texas Southern University. The station will target Millennials and Gen-Z with a mix of Hip Hop, R&B and Neo-Soul. Funding for the station is from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

The Kansas Association of Broadcasters has announced its Class of 2023 Hall of Fame Inductees and the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award. The prestigious honor will be bestowed upon four renowned figures at a special dinner on October 22.
