Report: Raad to Join Rose on WCBS for Mets

Keith Raad is expected to join WCBS-AM and broadcaster Howie Rose for coverage of the New York Mets. The New York Post reported Raad, who still has to be approved by the Mets, would replace Wayne Randazzo, who left in December for a TV gig.

CBS Radio President and CEO Andre Fernandez has been selected by FCC Chairman Ajit Pai to serve on the Commission’s Advisory Committee on Diversity and Digital Empowerment. The ACDDE’s mission is to provide recommendations to the FCC on how to empower disadvantaged communities and accelerate the entry of small businesses into the media, digital news and information, and audio and video programming industries.

Long-Time Illinois Host Dies

WDWS, Champaign, IL host Jim Turpin died Sunday at the age of 90. Turpin called Illini football and men’s basketball for 42 years, retiring from the booth in 2002. He was VP/GM of WDWS and WHMS in Champaign and for years hosted WDWS’ “Penny For Your Thoughts” through 2017.

Ramsey Hits 600 Affiliate Mark

The Dave Ramsey Show is kicking off 2018 with the announcement that it has just added its 600th affiliate after clearing KSFO-AM in San Francisco. The station will air the program from 6p.m. to 9p.m. PD Mike Anthony said, “Dave’s daily contribution to improving listeners’ financial lives is a key reason he is now part of the very powerful 560 KSFO lineup.”
