Cumulus Gets A New Erie Market Manager

Twenty-year veteran Chuck Poet is the new Market Manager for Cumulus' five-station cluster in Erie, PA. Poet joins Cumulus Media from Results Radio in Parkersburg, WV, where he was Sales Manager. Prior to that, he was Market President for iHeartMedia’s Parkersburg, WV, and Wheeling, WV, radio stations for 15 years.

TuneIn Keeps Cumulus

Cumulus and TuneIn announced Thursday that the two sides have signed a new multi-year contract that will keep Cumulus' 441 stations on the streaming app. TuneIn will also carry all of Cumulus' podcasts from the Westwood One Podcast Network. That's good news for TuneIn, which lost all Entercom stations in June when they moved over to Radio.com exclusively.

FCC Relaxes Non-Com Fundraising Rules

The Federal Communications Commission has voted to relax its third-party fundraising restrictions to permit noncommercial stations to air limited fundraisers for the benefit of other non-profit organizations. Until now they could only conduct on-air fundraising for third parties if they received an FCC waiver or the fundraising activity did not alter or suspend regular programming.
