October 12 is a big day for ESPN1000 Chicago as the station celebrates its 20th anniversary. Actually, they’re calling it “Fanniversary” — an event for listeners at Austin’s Fuel Room in Libertyville, IL, where ESPN1000 will be broadcasting the entire day. That includes Golic & Wingo (5 a.m. – 9 a.m. CT), Kap & Co. (9 a.m. – noon), Carmen & Jurko (noon – 2 p.m.), and Waddle & Silvy (2 p.m. – 6 p.m.). There will also be several on-site guests helping ESPN1000 Chicago reminisce about various milestones from the last 20 years on air.

“ESPN 1000 has provided Chicago sports fans with an outlet for listening to, sharing, and experiencing every top Chicago sports story for the past 20 years, said Jim Pastor, Vice President and General Manager of ESPN1000 Chicago. “We gave them a front row seat during championship runs by the Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox, and Bulls and we introduced them to new voices who would become part of their daily routine. It’s a great source of pride knowing the role we play in keeping Chicago sports fans informed and entertained.”

Fans at the celebration can win “MVP” passes, which allows them to become a part of the “MVP” section.
