Last week we reported that the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles were launching their own radiothon for charity. Well the results are in and a total of $201,632 was raised for the Eagles Charitable Foundation with the help of radio station 94WIP.

Analyst Revises 2017 Advertising Outlook

Brian Wieser, Senior Media Analyst From Pivotal Research Group, is downgrading his projections for 2017. He says there will be tough 2016 comps as the year turned out to be much better than expected. Wiser told investors, “We are revising our 2017 forecast to a +2.0% growth rate for the year ahead." His original forecast was an increase of 2.8%. Wieser says 2016 grew 5%, the ad industry’s best year since 2005.

Fanpage Teams With iHeart, Townsquare

Fanpage, a startup whose app allows users to create fan pages, connect with others based on compatibility, and compete to become the biggest fan, has raised $3 million and is partnering with Townsquare and iHeartMedia. The company plans to spend a major portion of the money on user acquisition, including radio, digital, and live event campaigns with iHeart and Townsquare.

A filing with the SEC states iHeart is not able to file its 2017 annual report on time due to a delay in the completion of the financial statements from Clear Media Limited, which is an indirect subsidiary of the company with shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company says several employees of Clear Media are part of an ongoing investigation for misappropriation of funds.
