KZRG Helps Over 600 Foster Kids
Zimmer Radio's news-talk station KZRG (1310 AM, 102.9 FM) in Joplin teamed up with Fostering Hope to help more than 600 foster kids during the annual Christmas of Hope event. KZRG and Fostering Hope worked with listeners, volunteers and local churches to help with the initiative.
KSAM, KHVL Honored as Business of the Year
HEH Communications's Huntsville stations KSAM (101.7 FM) and KHVL (104.9 FM, The Lake) were honored on Saturday by the Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commercial as the organization's Business of the Year for 2022.
Portland Broadcaster John McDonald Dies
John McDonald, a published author and radio broadcaster widely known for his dry humor and conversational style to radio listeners in Portland, Maine, died on Tuesday at the age of 78. His death was confirmed by his son, Jeremiah, who told a local newspaper that McDonald had been in poor health for a while.
‘Moon Griffon Show’ Returns to Baton Rouge
Guaranty Media says "The Moon Griffon Show" will return to its Baton Rouge talk station WBRP (107.3 FM) next year. The show will air on WBRP weekdays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. local time, a station official said in a press release Thursday.
Cox Media Names Justin Wenokur VP of Digital Revenue
Cox Media Group says it has appointed Justin Wenokur to serve as its vice president of digital revenue and sales strategy. Wenokur previously served as the senior director of digital strategy for Cox Media's Local Solutions.

Colorado Public Radio to Celebrate ’50-ish’ Anniversary
Colorado Public Radio says it will celebrate 50 years on air with a celebration called the "50-ish Anniversary." The public radio network said its first station, KCFR (90.1 FM) in Denver, was granted its first license in 1970; celebrations were postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic.
‘First Name Sports’ to Debut in January
SportsMap Radio Network says it will debut a new program called "First Name Sports" on January 2. The show will be hosted by Jeff Michael and Greg Franks, and will air on the SportsMap Radio Network weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern Time.
