Galaxy Media Partners and Syracuse University are combining for a new 24/7 video streaming network, Twitch.TV/CuseSportsTalk. The network will give fans a chance to talk SU sports regardless of their location.

It's safe to say there will be no parting gifts for outgoing FCC Chairman Thomas Wheeler from the radio industry. On Thursday, Wheeler announced he'd be stepping down as FCC Chairman on January 20, the same day Donald Trump is inaugurated. Following the Wheeler announcement we reached out to radio executives all over the country and asked them to give Wheeler a report card on how he did for the radio industry. It was not pretty.

The company says it flipped the frequencies of two Country stations on January 15. Texas Red Dirt Country KPUR-FM/“The Armadillo” will move from 107.1 to the more powerful 100,000-watt 95.7. KARX-FM will segue to its new home at 107.1 as NASH Icon 107.1 FM. There will be no changes in personnel or programming when the flip takes place.

ABC Radio will provide three one-hour specials during Memorial Day Weekend in addition to the previously announced Somewhere on the Road: ABC Radio’s Country Summer Tour Roundup. The following programs will be available: Tribute to the Troops 2016, Summer Survival Guide 2016, and Return of the Summer Sequels.

There had been some speculation that Pandora's new streaming service would be available any day, however, CEO Tim Westergren said the new service would be launched "by the end of the year."

The six stations Ed Levine's Galaxy Communications is picking up are in the Berkshires area of western Massachusetts, operating as “Berkshires Media Group,” and owned by Gamma Broadcasting. The stations are WBEC-FM, WBEC-AM, WUPE-FM, WUPE-AM, WSBS-AM, and WNAW-AM.

Same Station net broadcast revenue at Salem increased 12.2% to $52.4 million from $46.7 million in the second quarter of 2022. Digital media revenue increased 4.5% to $10.8 million from $10.3 million.
