WXXI Public Broadcasting in Rochester, NY has closed on the acquisition of silent WJZR Rochester from North Coast Radio for $ 1.2 Million. It gives WXXI a second full-market FM signal to augment its NPR news-talk WXXI-AM along with classical-music WXXI-FM.

The changes keep coming from the pure-play streamer. On the same day Pandora made it official CEO and founder Tim Westergren was leaving, the company announced it was winding down operations in Australia and New Zealand. A press release distributed by H-PROOF says the company, which developed chewable tablets that help prevent hangovers, is partnering with iHeart's Z100 as the official "Hangover Prevention Partner" for the 2018 Z100 Jingle Ball. The tablet was developed by doctors.

The National Association of Broadcasters will host a webinar focused on recruitment strategies for radio and television stations to help draw new sales and programming talent. The webinar takes place Wednesday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.

That's according to BuzzAngle Music's latest report which analyzed consumption for the first six months of the year. So far in 2017, total music consumption is up 9.9% over 2016.
