Alpha Media Portland has announced station consultant Tim Richards will be the new Content Director for 98.7 The Bull (KUPL). This is another step away from local programmers for Alpha Portland.
Last January, the company signed on P1 Media Group co-founders Ken Benson and Max Dugan as co-Content Directors for the cluster’s Alternative formatted 101.9 KINK.
Richards founded the Smith Richards Collective with Steve Smith and Heidi McIvor-Allen in April 2020. The firm was renamed Tim Richards Media following Smith’s passing. Before that initiative, Richards programmed Country stations for iHeartMedia and Audacy in Phoenix. He also had previous stints in Tucson, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and as Regional PD for Pacific Star Communications.
While at Audacy Phoenix, he was named one of Radio Ink‘s Best Program Directors in Country Radio.
