Kevin Malone has joined Community Broadcasters as their Fort Walton Beach (Florida) Market Manager. Malone comes to Community Broadcasters from Georgia, where he worked with Cumulus Media

Futuri has announced that Bob Willoughby has joined the company as SVP, Sales and Marketing. Willoughby will lead Futuri's sales, marketing, and sales support functions. He was most recently President for SummitMedia Richmond and has also worked for Cox.

Bubba John Stevens (John Laboranti) who was on the air in Philadelphia for over 45 years has died. Stevens worked for WMGK and WMMR, retiring from WMGK in November of 2013. He was 66 when he passed and battling cancer.

Los Angeles news-talk station KFI (640 AM) grabbed another honor from Barrett News Media on Thursday, with John & Ken being distinguished as Barrett's top afternoon show in a major market for the year. In mid-markets, the honor went to Hammer & Nigel of Cincinnati's WLW (700 AM).

Friday morning the legendary Scott Shannon announced on WCBS-FM that he has decided to retire from daily morning radio on December 16th.

Wayne Jones is now D.O.S. for the Urban One Houston radio group, moving up from LSM. Jones has held management positions in Austin, Baton Rouge and D.C. He made Radio Ink's Future African American Leaders list in 2015 and 2017 and is a 2017 Radio Wayne award winner.

David Gura has joined NPR as a business correspondent covering Wall Street, markets and finance. Gura started his career with a public radio as an intern at North Carolina Public Radio at his hometown station WUNC in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Rich Davis is returning to the Twin Cities as Director of Contemporary Hit Music Stations for iHeart's Western Great Lakes Region, and as PD for KDWB and KTCZ in Minneapolis. Davis will oversee programming for WZEE FM in Madison, WRNW FM in Milwaukee and WBIZ FM in Eau Claire. He previously served as the Senior VP of Programming for iHeartMedia Seattle. Davis replaces JB Wilde.

WNYC has named Nsikan Akpan as Health & Science Editor. He joins the NPR station from National Geographic.

Lucy Lopez says after more than two decades on Power 96 in Miami she's leaving the station. She posted to Instagram that Audacy is making changes to the station and it's time for her to move on. The Miami Herald has all the details HERE.
