Greater Media Tweaks ALT 92.9 In Boston
The company is giving WBOS a new look and a new logo. The music will remain Alternative but the station will now cut out a lot of the clutter. PD Ken West said, "We are passionate about delivering our content in a non-cluttered, non-controversial, pure-play music environment by playing the most music. In doing so, we are offering the ALT 92.9 Promise: 60 minutes of music after every commercial break."
As Expected, New Faces Show Sells Out
One day after opening registration for CRS 2017, Country Radio Seminar officials announced the New Faces of Country Music show is sold out. It's the second consecutive year New Faces tickets sold out the same day they became available.

New Public Repertory Database Site For ASCAP
ASCAP has launched a redesigned version of ACE, its public repertory database. ACE ("ASCAP Clearance Express") is a searchable database that contains information relating to musical works in the ASCAP repertory of 10 million works, and is updated weekly.
Entercom South Carolina Expands Blood Drive
WROQ-FM/Classic Rock 101.1, WTPT-FM/93.3 The Planet, and The Blood Connection will kick off their 12th Annual Rock N Roll Up Your Sleeve starting Thursday. The successful blood drive has become South Carolina Upstate's largest over the last 11 years and is expanding to three days this year.
Spotify Launches Two “Radio-Like” Stations
Tech sites are comparing the two new stations, or shows, to Apple's Beats 1 radio station. One show, called AM/PM, features artists like Jean-Michel Jarre and Terry Hall of The Specials discussing music they like listening to when the make music. The other station is called Secret Genius, which The Verge reports features songwriters and producers discussing major songs, and features more well-known artists.
Former Ford Exec Talks Connected Car
On the second Jacobs Media podcast focusing on the connected car, former Ford executive John Ellis, who launched his own company called Ellis and Associates, talks about the increasing role of software in today’s connected cars.
