Leighton Broadcasting has hired Jim Allgeier to be General Manager for Leighton Broadcasting, Winona, MN.

SiriusXM has invested $75 million in SoundCloud. The SoundCloud Board of Directors will expand to include two individuals designated by SiriusXM.

Spanish-language media company Estrella Media has appointed veteran Eddie León as Executive VP of Radio Programming. León will oversee programming at Estrella Media’s 17 radio stations and the Don Cheto Radio Network.

Carl and Jeri Goldman, owners of KHTS AM & FM in Santa Clarita, CA, are under a 14-day quarantine on the Diamond Princess cruise ship off the coast of Japan. The quarantine was put in place near the tail end of a 16-day cruise through Southeast Asia, when several passengers were diagnosed with the coronavirus.

RAB President and CEO Erica Farber and the RAB’s Executive Committee have agreed to a contract extension that will keep her in the position through April 2023. Farber has been CEO since April 2012.

Stan Piatt was a staple in Akron radio for 35 years as host of the WNIR morning show. Piatt’s career began in 1977 at WNIR, where he stayed until his retirement in 2013.
