The National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation is accepting applications for the First Time Managers Fellowship. The newly created scholarship is for women, people of color and individuals representing small market stations entering their first managerial roles.
Contract Extension for WGN’s Manfredini
HouseSmarts Radio with Lou Manfredini host has signed on for another four years. The show is also being extended an hour starting January 2, 2021.
NPR Continues Podcast Domination
With 20 million more weekly downloads, despite having hundreds of fewer active shows, NPR is still the most listened to podcast network, according to Triton. Stitcher is a distant second on the Triton chart. It's important to note that Triton does not include the iHeartMedia Podcast Network in their reporting.
Broadcasters Foundation Campaign Underway
The Broadcasters Foundation of America is appealing to those in the broadcast industry for tax-deductible donations. Personal donations can be made to the Guardian Fund and Corporate Contributions will go to the Angel Initiative.
Registration Open For Techsurvey 2021
The Jacobs Media survey examines the pandemic’s impact on: radio listening, acquisition of gadgets like smart speakers, and overall changes in lifestyle, locations, and habits. This study will field in early January and stations have until December 22nd to sign up.
Wilhite and Wall Join Sun Broadcast Group
Darren Wilhite and Tim Wall are two-time ‘CMA Personalities of the Year’ and host a 4-hour show available for all dayparts. White said, “We couldn’t be more excited about partnering with Sun. We’ve been fans for a while, and to become part of their roster is beyond awesome!”

Cox Hires Former Cumulus CFO
Cox Media Group has hired J.P. Hannan as Chief Financial Officer. Hannan joins CMG from AutoWeb, an automotive marketing organization, where he was CFO for two years. Before that Hannon was Cumulus' CFO for 7 years.
United For The Vote Effort Continues
Black Radio United For The Vote is now focusing on a run-off election in Georgia. Two Senate seats are being contested on January 5, 2021 and Atlanta's black radio stations are working on getting out the vote.
Volunteer Push Shining On Cumulus
Project Shine, a call to local volunteerism, is being launched on Cumulus Media stations nationwide. The cross-platform initiative is in partnership with the VolunteerMatch network.
