WCMC-FM/Raleigh, NC, (99.9 The Fan) has added SportsChannel8: The Radio Show to its lineup starting Thursday, August 15. The show will also stream audio/video at WRALsportsfan.com and the WRALsportsfan App.

Burks Broadcasting in Dyersburg, TN collected more than 20,000 canned goods to help feed the hungry this holiday season. The three-station company worked with area schools on "The 15th Annual Reason for the Season Food Drive."

99.7 Canton’s New Country also has a new Program Director. Scott Davidson has been named to the role and will double up on the job with My 101.7, The 80s and More. Davidson most recently served as morning show host on 101.7, and has held several programming positions throughout his career.

Total Traffic & Weather Network and Vizzion have extended their partnership. The agreement give TTWN broadcast partners access to Vizzion’s nationwide aggregated traffic camera network including imagery and live-feeds. 

While a majority of radio's reach comes through car speakers, the industry might want to focus on more on-ear audience share. University of California research suggests listening to audio content through headphones has a greater persuasive effect than speakers.
