“WTOP Top 10 Contest” will award $1,000 each to ten local restaurants in Maryland, Washington D.C. and Virginia. Nominations open July 18 and close July 22 with voting set for August 1 - 12.

SiriusXM and Mitsubishi Motors North America have extended their agreement through 2028. Mitsubishi owners and lessees will continue to receive a three-month trial subscription to the SiriusXM Platinum Plan with the purchase or lease of any new, certified pre-owned and eligible pre-owned SiriusXM-equipped Mitsubishi vehicle.

"Kabul Falling" is an eight-part podcast chronicling first-hand accounts in Afghanistan as the Taliban regained control last year. Project Brazen has teamed with public media organizaiton PRX on the podcast that debuts next month.

“Liberty Station” has joined the Salem Podcast Network line-up. The podcast includes commentary, analysis, and guest interviews focused on equipping pastors to become leaders in the culture and understanding current events from a Christian worldview.

PRX has announced they have hired Rachel Poulos as Director of Audience Growth and Marketing. An experienced marketer, Poulos joins PRX after serving as Group Account Director at global marketing agency Brainlabs.

Alpha Media has hired Geoff Owens in Portland as PD for KBFF-FM and KINK-HD2. Owens moves to Portland from Bicoastal Media's KDUK in Eugene where he was PD and Afternoon Drive Host.

Jane Matenaer has been on Milwaukee radio since 1984. Her last day was Friday. Matenaer began working at WTMJ-AM in 2015 after she was let go by WLDB-FM where she co-hosted mornings since 2010. Before WLDB, Matenar worked at WMYX-FM for 25 years.

The 40-year programming vet unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on July 7th, according to Smith's family. Audacy COO Susan Larkin, who worked with Smith at Cox Media Group, posted on social media, "I am shocked and saddened at the sudden passing of our friend and colleague Steve Smith. I loved working with Steve and he was a true friend."

Day after day for a little more than a year, the construction was below street level, and the amount of time that went into the foundation seemed to be as much time as went into the above ground structure. The foundation has to be solid if a building is going to reach high into the sky.
