Country Radio Broadcasters has named the recipients of the 2024 Rusty Walker and Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarships. Each scholarship recipient will receive registration, hotel accommodations, and airfare for CRS 2024, as well as recognition during the event.
The Rusty Walker Scholarship has been awarded to Gabe Mercer from Audacy Seattle’s 100.7 The Wolf (KKWF) and Phoenix’s (KMLE), Erin Bourne from Pamal Broadcasting Vermont’s 105.3 Cat Country (WJEN), and Cox Media Group Athens’ Haley Mason. Meanwhile, the Lisa McKay Women in Radio Scholarship goes to Annie Owens of Audacy Greensboro’s 93.1 The Wolf (WPAW) and Emily Harlan from Alpha Media Bay Country 94.5 (KBAY).
CRB Scholarship Committee Chairman John Shomby commented, “This is one of the most satisfying and important parts of our work at CRS. It’s all introducing new broadcasters to CRS, giving them a chance to network with and learn from some of the best in our business.”
Set for February 28 to March 1, CRS 2024 will feature educational panels, virtual networking opportunities, and workshops centered around Country radio. Registration is open online.
