Circle City Broadcasting’s President and CEO DuJuan McCoy has been appointed as the new chair of the NAB Leadership Foundation Board of Directors, effective from November 8. McCoy succeeds former Bonneville President Darrell Brown.

Brown has led the NABLF Board since 2019. McCoy began his journey as an alumnus of the NABLF’s Broadcast Leadership Training program. He made history in 2007 by becoming the first African American to own Fox affiliates in the United States and already serves on the NAB Television Board of Directors and is the NABLF Board’s Fundraising Chair.

McCoy’s dedication to diversity and community enrichment is further highlighted through the DuJuan and Tina McCoy Foundation, which he established with his wife. The foundation focuses on creating and supporting community programs aimed at enhancing life quality through education and career development. One of their significant initiatives is the Multicultural Media Producing Program, a 16-week certificate program designed to boost representation of people of color in the broadcasting newsroom.

McCoy expressed, “For me to have hatched my station ownership career via the Foundation’s BLT Program in 2007, and now have an opportunity to come full circle as the Board Chair is truly a heartfelt honor. I’m excited about leading the Foundation into the next chapter of developing our future broadcast leaders. I’m a very proud product of the Foundation’s impactful programs.”

NABLF President Michelle Duke commented, “DuJuan’s career embodies the mission of the NAB Leadership Foundation to open new doorways for the next generation of broadcasters. His firsthand experience and knowledge of our programs will be invaluable in helping our Board of Directors guide NABLF to meet the needs of our industry, develop opportunities for our workforce and equip future leaders and innovators with the tools for success. I congratulate DuJuan on his well-deserved election to NABLF Board chair.”
