The area east of Yellowstone National Park could soon have a new radio station, according to a report.
This week, the website Cowboy State Daily said a startup called Skye Media has filed an application with the FCC to license a new station to the community of Ralston, a census-designated place nestled between the towns of Cody and Ralston about 20 miles away from the Wyoming-Montana border.
Material submitted to the FCC showed Skye Media is looking to license its forthcoming station at 94.5 FM. A comprehensive technical statement filed with the FCC says the station intends to broadcast on a tower that is used by KTAG (97.9 FM), an adult contemporary radio station, though it does not appear the two stations will have related business beyond that.
A public comment period for the proposed station will take place between January 23 and February 7, 2023.
