Regional Radio Group, based in Glens Falls, NY raised $85,000 for Operation Santa Claus. More than a thousand kids will have a merrier Christmas because of the effort.
A mainstay of the effort is the “Peter Brock Small Business Challenge.” Years ago, Brock, the owner of Sam’s Diner in Glens Falls; went on the WCKM-FM Morning Club and started the small business challenge. That day he wrote a check for $100.00 and challenged area businesses to match it.
Pete Brock died this past Summer after a long battle with cancer. The tradition he started continues, and along with other events; including a Radio Auction, this year’s giving exceeded last year’s total by $20,000.
