First he was inducted into the Western Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2016. Now, Saskatoon Media Group announces that General Manager Vic Dubois has been awarded the Broadcast Order of Achievement commemorating his 50 years in radio broadcasting. The award was presented at a ceremony in Banff, Alberta, on June 6. The WAB represents radio and television stations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and is celebrating its 85th Anniversary this year.

In addition to overseeing the running of three radio stations and accompanying Internet properties, Dubois still contributes on-air. He started his career in 1969 in Smithers, British Columbia. A past president of the WAB, this latest award is the culmination of a half century of leadership punctuated by a commitment to the community. Most notably, in 2000, following the death of Secret Santa founder Denny Carr, Dubois put the wheels in motion to create a federally registered charitable foundation that carries on Denny’s legacy, to this day providing food and toy hampers to 800 families with children aged 14 and under at Christmas time.
