On Thursday, September 22 at The Radio Show in Nashville, Radio Ink magazine will be introducing the industry to radio's most successful Sales Managers, General Managers, Digital Sellers, and Account Executives. Thanks to the Radio Advertising Bureau, we are able to recognize these industry greats every year with awards named in honor of Wayne Cornils, who worked for the RAB for many years and was one of radio's greatest ambassadors.

Over the next several weeks, we're going to highlight the best of the best in radio sales and management. The Radio Ink Radio Wayne Awards will be handed out on September 27 at the Radio Show in Orlando; and in a new series of podcasts, we pick their brains about how they've made it to the top.

Kevin LeGrett is the President of iHeartMedia Market Group’s Southwest Division, where he oversees programming, sales, partnerships, and operations for all radio station brands in the Los Angeles, San Diego/Riverside, Arizona, Red River, Houston, Dallas, and Austin/San Antonio Regions. LeGrett is also a 2018 Radio Wayne finalist.

Katie Philippi is the Sales Manager for Alpha Media in Lincoln, NE. Last week, Katie took home the Radio Ink Radio Wayne award for top sales manager in the country at the Radio Show in Orlando. Katie tells Radio Ink she felt pure joy when she heard her name called by Radio Ink Publisher Deborah Parenti.

(By Radio Ink Publisher Deborah Parenti) Last week, I had the honor of presenting the 24th Radio Wayne Awards at the Radio Show in Nashville. It was both an inspiring and humbling opportunity and a role I recently assumed as part of my duties as Radio Ink’s publisher.
