New York City Classical Music station WQXR has announced that Jacqui Cheng will join as its first-ever Editor-in-Chief for Music. Most recently, Cheng served as Editor-in-Chief of Wirecutter. 

The National Association of Broadcasters will honor Hall of Fame sportscaster James Brown with the 2023 Distinguished Service Award in October at the NAB Marconi Awards Dinner during NAB Show New York.

Five radio identities have been named by the Arizona Broadcasters Association in ABA's 28th Annual Hall of Fame class. The 2017 inductees, who were chosen based on their outstanding contributions to broadcast journalism, are Jan D’Atri, Bob Davies, Steve Goddard, Allen Kath, and Michael Owens.

Ron Ananian, AKA "The Car Doctor", will host his 1,500th radio show March 28. The nationally syndicated show airs on 94 stations nationwide through the Talk Media Network.

The iHeartMedia’s station announced Wednesday that Fresno radio personality Jason Hurst is joining 98.9’s weekday lineup. He’ll join Teri Ann Schlesser to host the new Jason and Teri Ann Morning Show. The new program will debut Monday, August 1 and will air weekday mornings from 5-10 a.m.

According to The Baltimore Sun Mary Beth Marsden is leaving WBAL radio after almost five years of anchoring its afternoon drivetime newscast. Marsden has lived and worked in Baltimore for more than 25 years.

Valentine is the new mix show coordinator on CBS RADIO’s LIVE 101.5. He can currently be heard weekdays at Noon during the Eat 2 the Beat Mix and at 10 p.m. for the Late Night Mix Fix.

Scott Finn, President and CEO of Vermont Public, will be stepping down at the end of the year. This comes nearly six years after he first joined Vermont Public Radio, which later merged with Vermont PBS to form Vermont Public in 2021.

SRN's Tom Tradup informed us that long-time New York broadcaster Ralph Howard died Tuesday. Howard worked for WMCA-AM and WINS-AM in New York. From 1982 to 1985, Tradup was Executive Producer of the Ralph & Ryan morning show on WMCA — then owned by Ellen & Peter Straus of Straus Communications. Ralph was paired with NBC-TV newsman Bill Ryan.

Premiere Networks' number-one nationally syndicated Urban AC evening show The Sweat Hotel has moved to the 7 p.m. to midnight weeknight slot on iHeartMedia Chicago’s V103 (WVAZ-FM).
