iHeartMedia Fort Collins has tapped three-time CMA Major Market Personality of the Year Jonathan Wilde to bring a fresh morning show to Big 97.9 (KXBG). Big Mornings with Johnny Wilde has debuted offering a new voice on local news and current events.

After nearly 40 years of hosting the news on 1010 WINS in New York City, John Montone announced on the air Thursday he's retiring. He first made the announcement on "The Morning Drive," and followed it up with this picture and a post on Twitter.

Shortly after the Lover departure announcement, Radio One in Atlanta launched the all new Classix 102.9 “Atlanta’s Classic R n B.” Next week, The DL Hughley Show debuts weekdays 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed two weeks later with the Tom Joyner Morning Show officially returning to Atlanta on January 16th.

1080 The FAN (KFXX-AM), Portland is moving the midday team to mornings. The afternoon slot will be filled with a veteran station host joined by a market TV sportscaster.

Bill Herriott is the new D.O.S. and National Sales Manager for WTMJ Radio and 94.5 KTI Country in Milwaukee. In addition to leading that sales effort, Herriott will focus on selling ads for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers networks. Most recently, Herriott was the GSM for WLS Radio in Chicago.

Wichita police have arrested 43-year-old Ray Watkins, charging him with second degree murder after 70-year old KEYN-FM Wichita host Don Hall (pictured) was killed on his way to the radio station Wednesday morning. Police say alcohol and drugs are believed to be a factor.

iHeartRadio's 97.1 WASH-FM in Washington has hired Sabrina Conte as midday host. Conte began her radio career as a traffic reporter for what is now Total Traffic Network in Silver Spring, MD. Conte said, “Hosting the midday show on WASH-FM is a dream come true. I am so excited to be a part of such a fun, well-respected radio station in my hometown and look forward to joining this talented team."

Pacific Media Group's Charly Espina Takahama says she'll be retiring May 28th. She been in radio for nearly 5 decades.

Newstalk 580, 105.9 KMJ has hired Christopher Gabriel as the new host of Fresno’s Morning News. Beginning Monday, Gabriel joins anchor Matt Otstot to bring the San Joaquin Valley breaking news coverage from 6-9am PT. He'll also host a weekend talk show.
