Daytime Village Returns at iHeartRadio Festival
iHeartMedia has announced that the 2016 Daytime Village during the iHeartRadio Music Festival will feature live performances by Sam Hunt and Alessia Cara, with more artists to be announced. The Daytime Village will also feature fan zones and interactive experiences by iHeartRadio's brand partners. The Daytime Village will be held across from the Luxor Hotel and Casino on Saturday, September 24.
Apple to Start Charging for Radio
As of January 29, iTunes Radio will no longer be free. The service which was launched back in 2013 will cost $10.00 per month. Beats 1 will be the only music service available for free from Apple. Ted Williams Is Back On The Air
You may remember Williams, who became a national star when a video of a homeless Williams went viral. It showed Williams, who has a great radio voice, panhandling in Ohio. His fame and a $400 book deal didn't help him clean up his struggle with drugs and alcohol and he was back out on the street. WVKO in Columbus has put Williams back on the air.

Former WGCI PD Kris Kelley Passes
Kelley was well-known to Chicago listeners as an on-air personality with WGCI-FM. In October, 2015, iHeartMedia also gave her dual PD duties with WGCI and WKSC-FM. She was 45 years old.
Bill Moffett Passes
He was one of the biggest rock radio voices in Houston and went on to use his booming voice to start his own production company. Mike McGuff reported Moffett's passing by writing radio "lost a musical genius."
Former Bronco Mark Schlereth Joins 104.3 The Fan
Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan (KKFN-FM) Program Director Armen Williams announced Friday that Mark Schlereth will be joining Mike Evans to host Schlereth and Evans, weekdays from 6 a.m.-9 a.m. on Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan, beginning Monday, January 25, 2016.
How CBS Tries To Sell Ads On Podcasts
Digital website Digiday points out that it's been about a year now since CBS launched its Play.It podcast network. Advertisers the company was able to land include Dunkin’ Donuts and DraftKings.
