Entercom has hired Alex Silverman as PD for KYW Newsradio (KYW-AM) in Philadelphia. Silverman had been APD for News and Programming at WCBS Newsradio 880 (WCBS-AM) in New York, also owned by Entercom.

The company’s pair of Dallas radio stations (WBAP-AM and KLIF-AM) snared multiple awards in the 2016 Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Contest. And it was all achieved from a pool of 47 competing stations submitting 788 entries.

Mobile app developer RadioMax says it will now offer single app options to independent stations that include its Smart Ad technology.

Spanish-language broadcasting company LBI Media believe they’ve found the right woman for the Director of Sales position in their Houston market. Wynette Gallegos Ortiz has been with LBI Media since 2001.

Entercom’s KLOL-FM/Houston (Mega 101 FM) raised $408,193 to benefit Texas Children’s Hospital during its 9th annual Mega Radiothon. All funds raised benefit Texas Children’s Hospital.

As of today, KOMO AM/FM in Seattle will become KNWN AM/FM. The change was a condition of Sinclair Broadcast Group’s sale of radio stations (KOMO, KPLZ/STAR 101.5 and KVI) to Lotus Communications.

KELK-AM in Elko, Nevada is off the air after its tower collapsed into a parking lot in a restaurant damaging several cars. No one was injured. The 198-foot tower, located behind the station, fell after a truck hit its supporting guywires. It could be several days before the station is back on the air.
