The Satellite radio company announced that Jonelle Procope is joining its Board of Directors. Procope is the President and CEO of the Apollo Theater Foundation, a non-profit that operates the Apollo Theater in New York. She'll be paid a cash retainer of $100,000 and $175,000 in restricted stock.

SB Nation will now be called SportsMap Radio Network. Gow Media has owned the network for over ten years, when it acquired the assets of Sporting News Radio. Gow then rebranded the network to Yahoo Sports Radio for 5 years, then SB Nation Radio for 4.

The sports network says in June its podcasts were downloaded 42.7 million times, a 31% increase over June 2019. It was also the eighth month in the last nine that ESPN podcasts have been downloaded more than 40 million times.

Despite not having sports to talk about, FOX Sports Radio says it experienced record audience gains across its digital platforms last month. June was FSR’s second best month ever for podcast listens. 

Two radio broadcasters have been named to the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. The 2020 class was selected from nominations submitted by NYSBA members.

Kiss 108 (WXKS-FM), iHeart Media, Boston, is hoping to help fill the technology gap in schools. The station is partnering with the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents and the Massachusetts Department of Education to purchase Chromebooks for local students to use at home and in the classroom.

ESPN's 30 For 30 Podcasts kicks off the new season with Heavy Medals: Inside the Karolyi Gymnastics Empire. Bela and Martha Karolyi are the most successful and controversial coaches in the sport.

Journalist and Commentator Roland S. Martin will be heard on the Black Information Network. According to BIN originator iHeartMedia, Martin will create custom commentary segments that can be heard daily.

CMT Radio’s Digital and Social Producer Lauryn Snapp is joining radio and CMT personality Cody Alan. Premiere Networks has added Snapp for CMT After MidNite with Cody Alan and CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan.
