BIA Increases 2022 Local Ad Revenue Estimates

BIA Advisory Services has increased its total 2022 U.S. Local Advertising Forecast estimate to $173.3 billion, from its earlier estimate of $161.5 billion issued late summer. BIA expects radio to come in at $12.79 billion this year and increase to $13.54 billion in 2022.

Audacy names Cisco Cotto morning drive anchor for WBBM Newsradio as of January 3rd. Cotto originally joined the station as a street reporter and fill-in anchor, later moving to midday anchoring and host of the WBBM noon business hour. He succeeds Pat Cassidy, who recently announced his retirement.

With $62 million in revenue in 2020, Hubbard Radio's WTOP in Washington, DC was by far the top billing radio station in 2020, according to new data from BIA Advisory Services. iHeartMedia's KIIS-FM in Los Angeles was next at $38.9 million.

Santrella To Be New Salem CEO

On Monday Salem Media Group announced that CEO Ed Atsinger will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors as of January 1st. David Santrella, who's on the December cover of Radio Ink Magazine, will become the new CEO.
