Minneapolis radio journalist Kim Jones found out she has stage-1 lung cancer when her chest was X-rayed following a car accident in November. Country singer Justin Moore is joining the morning show on Little Rock Arkansas sports station KABZ-FM. Moore will team with longtime personalities David Bazzel, Roger Scott and R.J. Hawk on Dec. 30 for the debut of the Morning Mayhem show.

In Dallas and Houston over $640,000 was raised for Texas Children’s National, part of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, through a pair of radiothons. KMVK-FM in Dallas raised $357,245 as part of their annual “La Grande Radiothon” and KLOL-FM in Houston added $288,099 during their annual “Mega Radiothon.”

Redrock Broadcasting’s 4 Station Group in St. George, Utah raised over $31,000 during its 6th annual all-day Radiothon. The money will be donated to the local ROOT FOR KIDS Center for Children.

Mike McDougald, former owner of WRGA and Q-102 in Rome, GA has died. McDougald was a member of the Georgia and Alabama Radio Halls of Fame.

SOS Radio and Hope for Prisoners teamed up to make Christmas possible for 100 families full of children with incarcerated parents. “100 Christmases” took place at the Ahern Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.
